European Veterinary Specialist
in Internal Medicine
Yvonne qualified from Glasgow in 1997 and returned to the vet school
in 1999 as a resident in small animal internal medicine where she was awarded
her certificate in small animal medicine. After completing her residency
she spent 6 months working in the critical care unit of the Royal Veterinary
College in London. She was then appointed as a consultant in medicine and
critical care at a referral hospital in Essex. In 2004, Yvonne launched
her own medicine referral business based in Stirling. |

In addition to providing medicine referrals, Yvonne is also a clinical pathologist
for Axiom Veterinary Laboratories. |
The European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine
- Companion Animals |
Yvonne is a recognised European Veterinary Specialist in Internal Medicine
and holds the European Medicine Diploma. Her main areas of interest include
gastrointestinal endoscopy, management of peritonitis in small animals and
all aspects of emergency medicine and critical care. Yvonne's research interests
include the use of the acute phase proteins as diagnostic aids and prognostic
indicators in dogs. In addition, Yvonne is a contributor to the 2nd edition
of the BSAVA Manual of Small Animal Clinical Pathology, and is an advisor
for the RCVS certificate in small animal medicine. |

Yvonne also has sign language skills for communication with the deaf community
and has obtained the level 1 certificate in British Sign Language and a
certificate in advanced communication with the deaf. |
